Senior Chimes practice every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the FLC, unless otherwise posted.

Choir practice is every Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

Scouts:
    Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts meet every Monday night at 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

AWANA:
    At 5:30 p.m. on Sundays, the Sparks (age 5 - 2nd grade) and the Truth & Training (3rd-6th grades) meet in the
church basement area. On Wednesdays, the Trek (7th & 8th grades) meet in the youth room and Journey (9th -12th grades) 
meet in the FLC from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please see Tina Steppe or Connie McDermid.

W.M.U. & G.G.B.A. Items for February & March:
Thank you for your continued support in helping our community in need.
The items are: Canned meat, canned beans, canned soup and sugar. The collection box is outside the nursery.

• Church-Wide Outing:
We have reservations at the Woodshed in Stanley on Friday, March 12. The bus will leave the church at 6:00 p.m.
There are only 25 slots, so sign up today. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the hallway.

Mission Night:
Beginning in March, the first Wednesday of every month will be Mission’s Night. All groups will meet at 7:00 p.m.,
this includes C.A.R.E. - no meals. There will be no evening Praise, Prayer & Bible Study in the sanctuary on Mission’s Night.

“Building Faith Campaign”:
We are very grateful for and strengthened by the 6 homes that made a 12-month commitment to our “Building Faith Campaign”.
I am praying that even more homes will be able to join us in this vision for a stronger ministry. Together, with Christ,
we will shape the future ministry of Shady Grove.

Attention Ladies:
Please join the WMU members in the parlor Wednesday, March 3, for the regular meeting. If you can, please bring washcloths,
bars of soap, and other toiletry items. We will put together small bags for distribution by the Salvation Army in Gastonia.

Attention Youth:
Please be at the church next Sunday evening, March 7, at 3:30 pm to prepare food for the Cornerstone Christian Center.

Brotherhood:
The Brotherhood built a small ramp at the home of Rosie Sellers. A very special “Thank you” to John Ross for his time
and work on this project. The Brotherhood will meet on Wednesday, March 3rd, in the library at 7:00 p.m.
Our monthly meetings will be held on Mission’s night.

Baby Bottles:
Please turn in all baby bottles today. So far, we have collected $ 386.92 for the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Thank you!

New Date for the WOM Event:
Attention all ladies! You’re invited to a GGBA Women on Mission’s Event “Love Your Neighbor” – Project Help: Poverty Focus.
New date: Saturday, March 27, 11 am- 1:30 pm. The event will be held at First Baptist Church, Bessemer City,
107 E. Washington Avenue. Special guest speaker is Jan Cartledge and soloist Ann Bame. The cost is $ 5.
This includes a soup and salad lunch, mission speaker, and other materials. Please RSVP with number attending and
check to the GGBA office by Monday, March 22.

Do You Know Someone Looking For Work?
The Census Bureau is hiring. The Census Taker pay is $ 15.25 hr. and Census Clerk is $ 11.50 hr. There are several requirements.
One requirement is taking the census test. You can take the practice test online at www.2010cenusjobs.gov.
before you come in to take the real test. To make an appointment or for more information, call (704) 691-6020.

Children’s Camp:
Attention Parents: It may be cold outside, but it’s already time to start talking about Summer Camp for our children.
This year we will be attending Centri Kid at Anderson University in Anderson, SC for the week of July 26-30.
Each participant will need to make a deposit of $ 25 which the church will match. The total cost will be $ 246,
however, there will be opportunities for your child to participate in fundraisers to help off-set the cost. In addition,
there will be financial assistance for those who cannot afford the cost. Deposits are due March 7. Children in the
3rd - 6th grade are eligible to attend Centri Kid. Please contact Pastor Drew for more information.

Youth Camp:
Just like it is time for our children to begin making plans for summer camp, so it is with our youth. This summer
our youth will be returning to Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters Camp. We are scheduled to attend the week of
July 12-17. The cost for the trip is $ 360. Deposits for each youth are $ 100. However, the youth will only be
required to make a deposit of $ 50, which will be matched by the church. Deposits need to be in Sunday, March 14th.
Just like with the children, there will be some fundraisers (as well as additional donations) to help off-set the cost.
If for any reason, a parent cannot make said deposit, please contact Pastor Drew.

Hand Chimers:
The Hand Chimers will begin their practice in August.

Weekend Campout & Ministry for Men & Boys:
Men it’s time to be boys again, come join us for a weekend of fun and fellowship at Camp Caraway May 21-22.
The sign-up sheet is in the church hallway. The cost of the retreat is $ 68.00 & is due by April 1.
This cost covers Friday night lodging, three meals on Saturday, and all supplies needed for the retreat.
You must be at least 16 years old to attend.

    Personalized, one-on-one assistance in getting to, viewing, and navigating the Shady Grove website, from your own computer,
is available! Please see or call the following people to schedule an appointment: Chris Schultz or Tina Steppe.

• Basket Ministry:
    The Basket Ministry is requesting that whenever you know of a new family moving into the Shady Grove Baptist Church
community that you call the Church Secretary and give her their names and addresses. This information will help the
Basket Ministry to reach more people in our area.
